Dr. Shmueli's Vision
Legacy...
Dr. Yaron Shmueli, DVM, envisioned All Vet Care as a place where compassion, fairness, and truth guided every decision. Raised on a farm, he developed an early love for animals that shaped his lifelong dedication to veterinary medicine. After earning his DVM in 2002 from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest, Dr. Shmueli became known for his surgical expertise, mastering complex procedures like TPLO and handling critical emergencies with skill and care. Alongside his wife, Dr. Sharon Gold, he built All Vet Care to be more than just a hospital—it was a sanctuary where every animal was treated with dignity, and owners were reassured by his honesty and integrity. His vision lives on as Dr. Gold continues the legacy, ensuring that the values Dr. Shmueli instilled remain at the heart of the hospital's mission.
Meet Our Wonderful Doctors!
Dr. Laura Cihocki, D.V.M.
Dr. Cihocki earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University in 2005 and has been caring for pets in California ever since. Originally from New Jersey, she quickly fell in love with the Golden State and now calls it home. Dr. Cihocki’s passion for animals began at a young age, and she always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. As a proud pet parent to a dog named Addie and a cat named George, she understands the joys and challenges of pet ownership firsthand. Dr. Cihocki feels truly fortunate to be able to help pets and their families through her work. When she’s not at the hospital, she enjoys baking, practicing yoga, swing dancing, and participating in community singing.
Dr. Sharon Gold, D.V.M. & C.V.A.
Dr. Gold earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1999 from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest, Hungary, and has since worked in a variety of hospital settings, gaining extensive experience in both internal and emergency medicine. Her dedication to animal care led her to further training in Eastern veterinary medicine at the Chi Institute in Florida, where she studied under the renowned Dr. Xie, one of the world’s leading veterinary acupuncturists. Dr. Gold is fully certified in veterinary acupuncture for both small and large animals and has seen firsthand the incredible benefits it can provide. Inspired by these results, she pursued advanced holistic acupuncture certification. Dr. Jason Balara, D.V.M. & D.A.C.V.S.
Jason graduated from Tufts Veterinary School in 2004 and by that time knew exactly what he wanted to do with the rest of his veterinary career. Surgery had been introduced as a student and immediately became a passion. He started specialty surgical training after graduation from vet school, with a 1 year internship followed by three year residency program. This intense training along with amazing mentors, allowed him to pass boards and truly embrace a career as a veterinary surgeon. Since 2008, while working in multiple large specialty hospitals, Jason has focused solely on surgery with a passion for complex orthopedic cases and teaching the veterinary community. This has come in many forms, from mentoring interns and residents to training technicians how to follow a path of specialization. He also takes that same educator mindset into the practices he visits for mobile surgery cases, trying to increase the understanding of surgery in veterinary medicine. JMB Mobile Veterinary Surgery was founded in 2017 with the vision of merging high level specialty surgery with the comfort and familiarity of the family veterinary practice.
